Lost Barn

Click here to bid on this painting
On a recent drive on backroads in Alabama I drove by this old barn tucked backed in the woods. It looked abandoned but the charm of the old wood and the rusty tin roof just called to be painted.

Running the Beach

As the beach season ends this little redhead ran back and forth along the waters edge. She was so pretty in her red fancy suit and I could sense that she felt that way as she grinned and held her head high. The little red swimmies on her arms matched perfectly and the water splashed as her toes dipped in and out of the water.

Shell Hunting

Shell hunting in Orange Beach was very successful for these cuties. It was a bright sunny day and the water was a beautiful blue and green. The little red bag was bulging with shells as they ran back to the umbrella to check out their finds.  This Painting has SOLD.

Walk to the Store

Last Fall I enjoyed riding around in the Historic Section in Gadsden, Al. The large old trees were brilliant in color. I spotted this man walking down a side road. The sun lit his back as he slowly ambled down the sidewalk. I quickly snapped a picture to ensure I could recreate the calm feeling in the painting. 11x14 Original Oil   If you are interested in this painting contact me ddowdle@charter.net         to receive notice of new paintings go to http://www.alabamadailypainters.com/ and click on daily e-mail to subscribe

Beach on Lake Martin

On a late afternoon boat ride, we spotted this relaxing beach in Pitchford Hollow. I just loved the red chairs and the little ocean kayak. It was such fun to paint this scene. Lake Martin is such a beautiful place to be.
